On a MISSED free throw, a rebounder from the defending team takes the ball out of bounds (like it was a made FT), then inbounds the ball to a teammate and the play goes on.  The FT was missed.  As soon as the rebounder carried the ball out of bounds, the officials should have blown the play dead and awarded the ball to the other team.
